Pythagoras

According to [8], Pythagoras' formula a2+b2=c2 immediately led to a new mathematical problem, having an irrational ratio. At his time, the concept of this was not known and it is uncertain how Pythagoras dealt with the problem, and if he managed to solve it.
Pythagoras was convinced that the divine principles of the universe, though imperceptible to the senses can be expressed in terms of relationships of numbers. He therefore reasoned that the secrets of the universe are revealed by pure thought, through deduction and analysis to do with perceptible world. This eventually led to the famous saying that "all things are numbers," something Pythagoras believed in a lot.
Pythagoras' theorem has also influenced the field of mathematics. A field theory is a branch of mathematics which studies the properties of fields. A field is a mathematical entity/symbol for which addition, subtraction, multiplication and division are well explained. Hippocratic's oath also was influenced by Pythagoras' discoveries with its central commitment to First do no harm.
Eventually the people of Crotona began to become suspicious of the Pythagorean brotherhood (school) because its members were aristocrats. Citizens of Crotona killed most of the members in a political uprising. Historians do not know whether Pythagoras let the city some time before the outbreak of violence and escaped death or was killed in the fight.
